Things We Do On A Daily Basis Here At The Ministry

I've been asked several times to tell some stories about those we assist and help here at Squash Patch Farms Ministry. For the most part, I shy away from this simply because of privacy issues. I also don't believe in using the problems folks may be going through as a blog vehicle. We believe that what takes place between those we assist and the ministry is no body but God's business. This may seem rather curt and to the point but that is the way it is.

I can however give the reader some idea of how we endeavor to help those who we serve. Those we assist come from a number of sources. Some are referred to us from the various churches in our area, some from hearing about us and some even come from other organizations in the area. Obviously being a Food Assistance ministry, we try to help folks with food but there is much more to it than that. We try to help them become more self-sufficient in putting nutritious food on their tables. We do this through a number of methods that the reader can see on our Programs & Services page.

In many situations, needing assistance with food is only one of the issues individuals and families are dealing with. We are not a large ministry so we aren't able to address every issue that comes our way. We are however usually capable of connecting folks we serve with other ministries and organizations more capable of addressing issues that we are not set up to address. We have a fairly extensive data base we use for this purpose.

We are dedicated to leading all those we can to a saving knowledge of Christ. This means that any and all advise and suggestions we give are biblically based. No one is better capable of handling the problems of life than our Lord. Their relationship between them and Christ is between them and Christ. We're here to point the way and be of assistance in their walk with Him. This often takes us and them down some unusual paths but we know those paths are ordered of the Lord.

Our Lord dealt with those he came in contact with on a personal and loving basis. We strive to do the same. The last thing we ever want to do is bring any kind of hurt to or make any of the issues folks are experiencing worse. Every thing we do here at the ministry is focused on preserving the pride and dignity of those we serve. Except for our educational programs, everyone we serve is seen on an individual and private basis and all things are held in complete confidence.
